Honesty and integrity literally is the foundation of our lives. Honesty is not cheating, lying, or stealing. Integrity is doing what is right even when no one is looking. These two concepts are ones we each deal with in our daily lives constantly.
I will be the first to admit I sometimes struggle with these myself. Today for example, I did not follow these values. While taking an English six weeks exam over A Tale of Two Cities, I cheated. Which means I was not honest and had no integrity. This is not the way our Heavenly Father wants us to be. It is wong. And not only that, but it separates us from Him. That is certainly not something we want. Our Heavenly Father certainly does not want us to fail in life. But grades aren't everything. Honesty and integrity are though.
President James E. Faust delivered a speech talking about how important honesty and integrity are for us (https://www.lds.org/youth/video/honesty-you-better-believe-it?lang=eng). This incredible show how important it is for us to remain honest and not to fall to the deception that lying and cheating are allowed because others around us are doing it. While we may want to and we see other people influencing us to do so, perhaps by asking us for answers, we cannot do that.
When you cheat, you're only cheating yourself. Life is not a competition between the person you are sitting next to in the classroom. Life is about finding ourselves and our capabilities. And we can't do that if we are constantly deceiving ourselves into thinking we are something we are not, or we are better at something than we are. Life is quite literally all about you. And only you (and our Heavenly Father). You are only competing with yourself, no one else. Sometimes it's important to remember that we each have our own path. Just because someone is better at math than you doesn't mean you're automatically a failure in life. Or just because you fail a class doesn't mean it's the end of the world. It's truly better to fail than to not fail by cheating.
