1 Nephi 7:12 says "Yea, and how is it that ye have forgotten that the Lord is able to do all things according to his will, for the children of men, if it be so that they exercise faith in him? Wherefore, let us be faithful to him."
I would like to bring particular attention to the last part, "let us be faithful to him." When we break everything apart into pieces, it all comes down to one thing. Faith.
In this particular scripture, it is emphasized that we need to have faith in the Lord. He has promised that He will never forsake us and that He is always there. All we need to do is pray and we will have direct contact with Him. The Lord is here to grant us help when we sincerely seek for it. Sometimes that is more often than not. For me, it is everyday. At least twice a day. I am always seeking for the Lord's help in all things.
Moroni 10:4 states "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost." When we seek sincerely for an answer, the Lord will answer our prayer. Sometimes it's immediately, sometimes we have to wait awhile. One thing I've noticed that sometimes happens is we receive revelation and then we go for a while without hearing anything else. This gives us time to ponder what we have learned. When the Lord thinks we are ready, He will grant us more knowledge. But once again, sometimes this takes time.
The Lord truly knows when we are ready. It is an amazing and incredible thing. But He knows. He is our Heavenly Father and no one else knows us better than Him. All we have to do is put our faith and trust in Him and follow the promptings He gives us.
Trust the Lord. That's all we have to do. Trust and have faith.
